Meet Your Reviewers

We are Brynne and Chas and we love exploring Denver through coffee! We moved up to Denver July 2025 and have been adventuring our way through the Denver coffee scene ever since. We are both partway through our respective master's programs, so homework dates are a common occurrence and a great excuse to try a new coffee shop.  I, Brynne, am a former barista at a local coffee shop in Minneapolis and have fairly high standards for coffee shops and beverages as I have been trained in proper espresso extraction, pour over methods, ratios of beans to black coffee, and the art of making high quality syrups. My partner, Chas, has an appreciation for the finer things and is the main critic for the black coffee. A scientist by trade, he blends the technical aspects of brewing good coffee with a sensitive flavor pallet. 

Outside of the world of coffee, we love hiking, climbing, camping, and anything that gets us outdoors. You better believe we bring our lightweight pour over set up on our camping trips along with good beans! There's something so delightful about a crisp morning in the mountains and a steaming cup of coffee. 

We also dabble in the cocktail and food scene in Denver. We approach a new restaurant or bar with similar criteria to our approach to coffee – what are the vibes, can they make the basics, what are their seasonal drinks, how complex are the flavors, and is it balanced? 

As we continue our adventure through Denver coffee, we'd love to hear any suggestions you may have or your thoughts on any of the shops we have reviewed.
